I continue to indulge my love of rainbows, geometric design, and hearts. And polka dots. Put it all together and what do you get? This:
See it on Redbubble!
In other good news, I have yet another artwork featured on Redbubble’s home page! Design 42 – My raccoon pattern. My birds have been selling quite well, even as they’ve moved down the page and below the proverbial fold, so it’s exciting to have another one featured. Yay!
I’m full of candy. My son was a unicorn, and we got lots of trick or treating done in our new neighborhood. Good times! As you can imagine, I started really late today. I wanted to do something Halloween related, but also keep with my animals in print theme. So, a black cat seemed like the natural, if cliché, answer.
That’s the idea I started with. This is what I ended up with. Find it on Redbubble here!
Today has been the most challenging of all. We had a system incident that started late in the afternoon and continued well into the evening. Then I finally dragged myself away at a time that I could leave it with someone else to babysit to make dinner, spend time with my youngest, read him books and put him to bed.
So, as it’s 10pm now, I’m checking in with work again to ensure that all is well. I really threw this pattern together – it is slapdash, unrefined, and I threw a well used color palette on it (granted, a color palette that I love). But I do like that it’s has a fun and energetic feel.
Anyway, here it is – thrown together and thrown onto Redbubble!
I really like today’s design. BUT! I did it in a bunch of other color ways, and some of them were truly awesome. They really brought out the best in the design, and gave off less of a citrusy vibe than the original (not that there’s anything wrong with citrus). I had at least five versions that I truly loved. Five!
And then Illustrator froze.
And then all my work lost. I even lost my original pattern. Luckily I had an exported png, so I pulled it back into illustrator, used Trace Element to re-vectorize it, and was able to create a few color ways, but not all of them.
Anyway, today’s geometric design is a pattern of organic polka dots with some detailed designs added in for fun.
Here are the three colorways. My personal favorite is #2 in the red and teals. My husband’s favorite is the citrus. I love the playfulness of this design, it really feels like me.

They look mighty fine on pillows!
Colorway #1 – Citrus
Colorway #2 – Red and teal

That’s all from me! Until tomorrow.
