Day 17 of 365 Days of Design

Geometric design theme continues. Today I went for the classic chevron shape. I had some real difficulties getting this one into a repeat. Gorgeous overlapping shapes resulted in a woven textile feel. It actually reminds me a lot of a scarf that I knit many years ago.

Other than that, inspiration was elusive today. I’m happy that I made a passable pattern, but in all honesty its creation was not coming from a place of excitement or passion, but just a let’s get this done attitude. To be expected when creating a design each and every day!

Redbubble! Until tomorrow!

Day 13 of 365 Days of Design

When I woke up this morning, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

The result is not exactly what I had in my head, but it does have the element of graduated circles. I like the way it creates a light and shadow effect. Available on over 53 products on Redbubble!

I know what I want to do next for a theme sprint, but I’m going to stick with Geometric for a while longer. There’s an entire world of design to be explored there.

That’s all for me today. Until tomorrow!

Day 12 of 365 Days of Design

Welp, today was a struggle. I didn’t get started until after I put my littlest to bed. I didn’t have any clear idea or plan. I knew I was in trouble before I sat down.

Geometric theme sprint continues – I will continue it for a while longer.

I tried at least 8 different things. Finally I decided on a grid, blended chromatic design, similar to Day 8.

I brought it into Photoshop, pushed it to its limit, then pulled it back again. I can’t decide which one I like more, but I decided to go for the cleaner, more subdued version.

Here’s where I started:

Then I pushed it to something really dramatic in Photoshop:

Then I pulled it back again to the original. I like them both a lot. I might put them both up at some point.

Here’s the final on Redbubble:

It’s nearly midnight! Tomorrow, geometric, black and white 60s mod design is my plan. We’ll see what happens!

See ya tomorrow.
